First day in Florence

Bonjourno! We made it to Italy with all 200 lbs of our luggage and are loving it! When we arrived we went to a short orientation meeting and then took a cab to our apartment, we had to wait a while for a big enough cab as they kept telling us we had too much luggage, but finally found one. we whizzed around the city dodging italians and large trucks on far to small streets. We then arrived at two tall, narrow wood doors on a small side street that would be the entrance to our new home for the next four months. we lugged all of our bags up 2 full flights of stairs finding a second set of 2 large doors that was the entrance to our apartment. after about 1o minutes of struggle to open our door with a large old key we finally made it in to our rather large apartment. we were first to arrive and found the perfect room in the back of the apartment with the largest closet and the only table (and a tv from the other room :) we moved our stuff all in and feel quite cozy, dispite the frigid temperature. we then made our way down to the street. we walked along the water with blue skies above, ornate structures in an oray of beige colors, and busselling italians all around in 1\2 sized cars, scooters, and just walking around. For dinner we found a quaint little restuarante near our home filled with all locals in loud engaging conversations. our short little italian waiter welcomed us and helped us figure out what to order. we both had pasta and tiramasu for desert, it was so good! we then went back to our apartment and chatted with our new roomates who seem to be really fun, two of which we found are christians as well which is nice to know. and that is day of italy. this morning we woke up and had the best cappaccino i have ever had and ashley found that "ciccolatte" is hot chocolate that is really just a melted chocolate bar, but is very good. we then walked around the city getting pulled into the little clothing stores (big surprise) and then finding an internet cafe which is where we are now. we miss you all bunches and love you lots and lots. i hope that this will give you a look into our lives in an attempt to share it with you! Adieo!
